Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Therapy
For Adults in WA and OR

OCD can look very different from the stereotypes people often hear about. It is not always about cleanliness or visible rituals. For many adults, OCD shows up as intrusive thoughts, chronic doubt, mental reviewing, reassurance seeking, checking, or feeling unable to let a question go.

At Collective Wellbeing Psychology, we provide online OCD therapy for adults in Washington and Oregon.

What OCD Can Look Like

OCD involves a cycle of unwanted thoughts, fears, images, or doubts followed by behaviors or mental rituals intended to reduce distress.

It may involve concerns about harm, relationships, morality, health, contamination, mistakes, responsibility, or whether something feels “just right.”

Intrusive Thoughts and Mental Compulsions

Intrusive thoughts can feel upsetting, confusing, or completely inconsistent with your values.

You may find yourself analyzing what a thought means, replaying conversations, reviewing memories, mentally checking, or trying to reach complete certainty.

These internal compulsions can be difficult to recognize because they often happen entirely in your mind.

Reassurance Seeking and Checking

OCD can also create a strong urge to repeatedly check or ask for reassurance.

This may look like rereading messages, searching online, asking others whether something is okay, checking physical sensations, or repeatedly reviewing whether you made a mistake.

These behaviors often provide temporary relief, but the doubt usually returns.

How OCD Therapy Can Help

OCD therapy can help you recognize the cycle, reduce compulsive responses, and become more comfortable with uncertainty.

Treatment may include evidence-based approaches such as ERP, CBT, and Inference-Based CBT depending on your needs.
