EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence‑based therapy that helps people process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences.

How it Works

During EMDR sessions, your therapist will guide you to focus on a specific memory or experience while using gentle, repetitive bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, taps, or sounds. This process helps your brain re‑organize how the memory is stored, so it no longer feels as intense or triggering. You are always in control and fully present during the session; EMDR does not erase memories but allows them to be processed in a way that feels safer and less overwhelming. Over time, many people notice that the memories lose their emotional charge, making space for relief, healing, and a greater sense of resilience in daily life.
